Types of dengue and how to avoid this deadly disease

July 14, 2019 by

Dengue is primarily a disease tolerated by mosquitoes. Viral infection begins with flu-like symptoms, but then leads to serious complications. As a rule, different types of dengue are observed in suburban and urban areas, and it is better to take precautions in advance.

High fever, vomiting, headache, joint pain and skin rashes are preliminary symptoms of dengue fever. But did you know that there are five types of dengue bacteria that wildly threaten humanity? Know all about the different types of mosquito dengue fever and take care of your family at the earliest stage.

Know about dengue types

Surface proteins differentiate subtypes, and DENVs lead to serious infections in humans. Classical dengue fever, life-threatening disorders of DHF / DSS and acute febrile illness are observed diseases.

Four types of dengue fever are commonly found: DEN-4, DEN-3, DEN-2 and DEN-1. However, in 2013, the latest (fifth) was found.

Different types of dengue fever vary according to their virus antigens.

DEN-1 and DEN-2 appeared in Africa and Central America in 1970. By 2004, all types of dengue were found in Southeast Asia. However, dengue viruses are now spread across the globe; especially in subtropical and tropical regions.

Classical dengue fever

Different types of dengue lead to a high temperature that lasts more than 14 days. During the febrile stage, neurological disorders accompanied by a febrile seizure are common in young children.

DF or dengue fever is known as bone fracture, and pains in the joints and muscles are severely felt. Fever stretches for about seven days; hence the name "seven-day fever."

How to protect yourself from various types of dengue?

If you suspect you are infected with one of the dengue types, your doctor will do the following:

  • Evaluate the causes and symptoms of dengue fever
  • Blood test for evidence of virus
  • Take a trip and a medical history

If you have traveled to tropical and subtropical regions in the past two weeks, you should not forget about the risk of suffering from one type of dengue.

There is no specific treatment for dengue fever or vaccine. When symptoms become too obvious, seek medical attention immediately. Drinking plenty of fluids is also helpful. Paracetamol can be taken to lower the temperature and reduce joint pain.

Because ibuprofen or aspirin increases the likelihood of bleeding, you should avoid this type of medication.

Interaction Dengue Vector

DENV based on a vector that represents a mosquito, namely, Aedes aegypti. Dengue transmission depends on geography, and dengue epidemics depend on mosquito density.

Most indicate that female mosquitoes lay eggs in water cans, cans or tires. In India, the prevalence of various types of dengue is common in the rainy season. Mosquitoes adapt to the urban environment and are a competitive vector.

Moreover, a female mosquito can infect more than one person. To protect yourself from several types of dengue virus, you should wear protective clothing during the daytime.

Protect yourself from dengue

Dengue accepts an epidemic rate in India, and it is better to take precautions for dengue in advance. Follow these steps to take the right measures and stay safe.

1. Select mosquito repellent (DEET)

Knowing the different types of dengue, you must purchase a mosquito repellent that has DEET (diethyl toluamide, which acts effectively as an insect repellent) and applies it to open skin. Be careful when spraying repellent because it may react negatively to cuts or wounds. Talk to your child's doctor to protect your child from dengue (less than two months), because insect repellent is not suitable for small children.

2. Do not underestimate the power of the mosquito net

This is one of the traditional ways to protect you from various types of dengue. The mosquito net is a cheap solution for deadly dengue, and it can cover the entire body from any insects. However, do not use nets with large openings, which can lead to mosquitoes getting in.

3. Liquidation of mosquito habitats

Wet places are the birthplaces of four types of dengue. Currently, the main goal of dengue fever prevention is to reduce the number of pupae, larvae and eggs, which can lead to the appearance of adult mosquitoes.

To get rid of various types of dengue fever from open space, focus on the places mentioned, which are the main habitats,

  • Boats and equipment parts
  • Shells, pods and husks fell from trees
  • Rainwater collection barrels
  • Construction sites, potholes and holes for trees
  • Unused tires, cans and bottles
  • Artificial container
  • Leaf bosoms of different plants

Indoors is also not safe. Knowing how many types of dengue exist, you should look for these places in the house,

  • Bottles
  • Water tank for bath or drinking water
  • Ant traps
  • Plastic containers
  • Vases for flowers
  • plates

If your home has a container in which water is stored, you must keep it covered properly to limit the reproduction of various types of dengue. The container should be regularly checked, cleaned and emptied. That way you can remove the eggs in a week.

To prevent different types of dengue, you can ask the community to speak and raise awareness. Each house must follow an effective step to reduce the density of the vector; transmission speed will be determined at the earliest stage.

4. Enable control of protection against dengue at home.

To save your family from various types of dengue, follow these steps:

  • Select window and door screens. Air conditioning reduces the risk of mosquitoes getting into the house.
  • Mosquitoes of malaria attack at night, but dengue mosquitoes attack during the day; therefore it is very important to wear the right type of clothing.
  • You can also use mosquito coils, insecticidal spray and evaporator to reduce bite activity.

So this summer, stay away from mosquitoes and protect against diseases such as dengue fever and malaria. Keep yourself under cover and use mosquito repellents regularly.
