The case for failure
Ten years ago, I had a vision. To build a business designed to help women create healthier bodies and more fulfilling lives.
Today this business is booming. Parts come together. My clients are brave + bad women I really adore. Work is difficult (as best as possible) and deeply performs.
But it was a JOURNEY.
There have been hundreds of times I was thinking about quitting – and twice when I came SUPER close.
Job offers were on the table.
Uncertainty. Fear. Uncertainty. I'm not good enoughWho, should i do this job?
That's what I want you to know …
Retreats + obstacles + the desire to throw all the necessary components of change, progress and success.
We often see change or “progress” as a linear graph. In reality, change and progress look more like this:
Progress kiosks + dips + goes back along the way.
There are a number of good reasons for this:
- Maybe we need downtime – think, reflect, regroup, reboot, or incubate something new.
- Maybe we need to return for a while. – plunge into our old “I” or old habits and remember why we build new ones, for example, visit the former, to remember why you left them.
- Maybe we need to repeat something.– practice, train and / or test our skills in different environments.
Or maybe we simply do not have the skills to reach the next level of our progression and, like everything else in life, we have to admit that doing something bad is a necessary precursor to doing them well,
The only way to fail is to give up.
The solution is that too many of us are good. And there is a reason for this.
When we try to reach the goal and leave, we get immediate help. Pressure off. But in the end, we feel terrible because of the care.
My clients often hear me saying I will never give up on you,
When I say these words, I mean them with my whole being. Because achieving a BIG goal requires overcoming BIG obstacles — and time. How long will it take. Your dream has no expiration date.
The journey of my business from the initial vision to the successful coaching practice was a wild trip, full of problems. And I would have no other way.
Overcoming problems creates our resilience and self-esteem.
When it comes to losing weight (or creating a business or any goal you want to achieve), ask yourself this question …
Am I ready to achieve this goal, no matter what?
If yes, do yourself a favor and keep going. As long as it is required.
