If you are familiar with this blog, you probably saw me discussing discipline and motivation before. One of the most popular articles I've ever written was a short article on this subject (see here). However, even popular articles eventually become distant memories as new content is delivered online. Unfortunately, most of this content has little to do with discipline. As mentioned recently, discipline is not something that can be packaged and sold. So, don't expect this to ever get too much attention. This does not mean that I can try.
I have said this before, and I will say it again. Motivation is overrated. The discipline is much more powerful and reliable in the long run. To be successful, you must be disciplined enough to act even in those days when you do not want to do anything. This is what separates the winners and the vanquished.
Listen below and feel free to share your thoughts and comments on my Instagram page.
For a long time, readers of the site probably begin to think that I sound like a broken record. Apologies if so. Nevertheless, the topic of discipline related to motivation, I take quite seriously. More people should hear the message, not waste time trying to create short bursts of motivation that will be short-lived.
Although I clearly prefer discipline rather than motivation, please do not misinterpret my message. I am not here to suggest that I have never felt motivated. I also do not suggest that I be afraid of my work every day and rely solely on discipline. This is not so, and this is not the point of this article.
The real message that I hope to convey is that motivation will not last forever and is not a reliable long-term investment. It could crash faster than the stock market. With that in mind, it should not be something you depend on to move forward. Instead, start developing habits to improve your discipline, thereby increasing your productivity no matter how you feel.
Your future, I will be grateful to you.
