Shrimp tacos with creamy cilantro sauce
Every day should be tacos tuesday! And it can be with this very easy and delicious Pan Shrimp Leaf Taco Recipe with Real California cilantro cream. The best part is cilantro crema – and you only need a few ingredients to put it together.
Taco Shrimp Ingredients:
1 pound of shrimp [peeled, deveined, tail off]
2 Tb. olive oil
1 TB lime juice
1 TB chopped garlic
1 teaspoon chili powder and caraway seeds
salt and pepper to taste
Plus – tortillas, lime slices and Californian cotia cheese
Cilantro Crema Sauce Ingredients:
3/4 s Real California Crema Mexicana
2 Tb. lime juice
1 tsp.Lime zest
1/4 diced cilantro
salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
Combine olive oil, lime juice, garlic, chili pepper, caraway seeds, salt and pepper. Pack the shrimp dry and mix with the marinade.
Place the shrimp on a baking sheet with foil, leaving space on one side to add tortillas.
Bake until the shrimp is cooked for 8-10 minutes.
Stir the shrimp halfway and add the tortillas to the pan for the remaining cooking time.
When the shrimp runs out and the tortillas heat up – build your tacos.
Top with cilantro sauce and cotia cheese. Serve with lime wedges.
Enjoy it!
Tip: Real California Crema can be found in the chilled foods section of Hispanic foods or in the cheeses section.
It looks like sour cream, but with a milder spicy taste. The consistency is thinner than sour cream, so it is easier to sprinkle with Mexican food.
Did you know that California is a leading Spanish-style cheese and dairy producer? Hispanic dairy products – from 25 varieties of cheese to cream and drinking yoghurts – offer versatility in both everyday and Latin dishes. You can learn more about the cream on the Real California Milk website at their Cheese 101 page.
Do not forget to look for products with the Real California Milk seal when buying products, which means that it is made from milk from California dairy families.
