Revel Marathon-Big Bear Race Results and Resume
Hello! I ran the Revell Big BBC Marathon this weekend. I did a bunch of Instagram stories on it – make sure you follow @RunEatRepeat on IG for updates!
For a long time I did not conduct a full marathon, so I was constrained and not sure how this would happen. I wanted to have fun. I wanted to run well and sit in a long / marathon / mental situation. And I think I'm fine. I am still very far away if I want to run faster, but now I feel much more confident! I am confident that I am able to work better and achieve complex goals. Now I just need to clarify what these goals and plans are for them. But today … I relax, I eat and repeat my race …
1. My one friend and only running buddy Skinny Runner aka @BarlesHambone went all the way from the northwestern tip of the USA to run with me !! *
2. Steve cycled all the way from Pasadena to Big Bear to watch me finish !! **
3. I saw Eliza on the bus, Pam before the race and many followers on the course and at the finish! Thanks for saying Hi !!! ***
4. Team RunEatRepeat shook the race! The half marathon and the marathon runners ran fast and hard! (If you want to get a discount on Revel Hawaii – check out my page "Discounts for the race") ****
5. I wanted to give up 20 miles … and I did not.
6. I did 2 bathroom stops during the race. And I'm not talking about that.
7. It was not as cold as I thought it would be at the very beginning. But we were prepared with a throw of equipment, ponchos, beans and hot hands.
8. I wanted to surrender 22 miles … and I did – … sort of … but kept moving forward. *****
I felt exhausted and wanted it to be over. I told SR that I finished, and I didn’t care if I did a sub-4-hour marathon. I just wanted it to be over. She continued to push me and encourage me to suck her and continue. At that time I was with her. We argued like an old married couple. But I left my voice (well, at least it was quiet for me). She continued me in many ways to motivate me …
SR: “Don't you think everyone wants everything to end? it's not just you …
I: (quiet anger)
//
SR: “do it for insta”
Me not. I don't care, you know, I don't care.
//
SR: "We are almost done …"
Me: I was miles back! I do not want to do this.
//
SR: "make it a time you can be proud of"
I: I am proud to do this! I don't care about my time.
//
SR: Come on! we can do it !! … & # 39;
(another runner hears her trying to motivate me and the chimes …)
I: (gives SR a look, because I'm not happy that now strangers are tapping me when I'm clearly not interested in being motivated and would like to call uber or ambulance)
SR: “We have another 20 minutes. I think you may be uncomfortable for another 20 minutes …
I: (thinking of bad words) puts in headphones and starts running
9. I AM COMPLETED !!
End: 3:50:46! I just wanted 4 hours. And I am pleased with this extra, because I never really got into the zone. I felt a little tired and crap all the time. I’m not sure if this is due to the elevation, my fitness level, I am still fighting off getting sick or combining it all. But the thing is, I did it. I returned. I can still run 26.2 miles. I am not so marathon as I thought.
10. It was great !! This is a great course! The views were awesome!
We were so high that it seemed that we were above the clouds in some places. And the sunrise on the mountains – it was so great!
We ran a 2-lane road from Big Bear to Redlands – this is not where runners can run safely. So it was very special, and I am very grateful that we need to run here and see mountains in some way that don’t like! I really liked it!
10.5. Post-race they handed out donuts, pizza and chocolate milk !! Oh yeah!
This is a winning circle.
It was a great race, and I really miss SR, so it was awesome. And now, when I think about it … I do not know if I can do it, if it does not come out to run everything! And again, she is good, and I hope that she decides to live off the grid in Gnome, AK is not so fun and comes back to run with me all the time.
Next post – I'll talk about food! We ate a lot of good stuff !! It was probably not the best fuel until the full marathon, but we didn’t plan lunch / dinner time and drive from OC to Redlands. Fail. But basically it was good.
Oh, and don't forget to follow me on Pinterest to find more race reviews and reviews, recipes, workouts, and more!
I never talk about Pinterest and forget to mention it until someone contacts me from the Pin that they saw, and I think I should remind you to follow me there … so, uh … that's what i do!

Notes from my list:
* SR does not live in Alaska, she lives in Washington, but I think it’s basically the same thing. I do not know cartography.
** Steve was there because he was working as a coach, and several of these Soul Runners team members ran in the race.
*** I forgot why I put an asterisk on this number.
**** Yes, I am working on getting a discount code for other Rvel Races. I have one for Hawaii – check Discounted page,
***** Now that the race is over … I am very grateful that SR pushed me. At the time I was Done. I wasn't going to leave, but I just wanted to go the last few miles. I felt like shit. But, obviously, I was able to pierce it, because I did it. If she had not encouraged me to keep running, I would have gone a lot more! So yes, she was right that I had more to give.
Arrival: What I ate before the race … What I ate during the race … What I ate after the race! <- Let me know if you have any specific questions about this!
