You are there looking for a new trip. You have a patriotic trait: all six rocky movies queued on Netflix, even dubious IN, You have a family, and all that, and enough coins to carry both styles.
Then pay attention to two brand new luxury mid-size SUVs made in the USA: the Lincoln Aviator and the Cadillac XT6. Both are equipped with V6 engines, three rows, a technology list and stickers that cost about $ 50,000. But what deserves a place in your garage?
We will save you from waiting: this is Lincoln. No matter what you think of Matthew McConaughey's fancy commercials, it's easy to notice the difference as soon as your foot steps on the pedals. Lincoln went with a more advanced drivetrain, and it pays off. The turbocharged three-liter V6 Aviator engine, and most of its power is available as soon as you connect.
On the other hand, the naturally aspirated V6 Caddy produces 90 horses less and much less torque (271 versus 415 lb-ft), peaking at high speeds. This is not anemia, but it is by no means satisfying, especially when you consider that fuel economy on the highway is only one gallon better.
The Aviator advantage is also visible inside, where you will find more metal and leather, as well as fewer plastic points of contact. I will not say that the Aviator is perfect. Some choices seem almost arbitrary, not due to functional improvements, such as a piano key selector installed on the dashboard. The XT6 has bright spots, such as excellent suspension settings, a quiet and comfortable cab and a solid crash rating – but it is still not enough.
So in this fight it's Lincoln. But, like Rocky, we look forward to a rematch.
