Knowledge is Power – RossTraining.com

April 8, 2020 by

Knowledge is power

Today's post is not about exercise or sports. This is a short message from me, urging you to invest in yourself, gaining more knowledge. Take advantage of the fact that this is an amazing time to be alive. Within seconds, you can search and study any subject that you like. Times have certainly changed since I was a child. The closest thing we had to Google was to look at the old encyclopedia in the local library.

Search, acquire, apply

Unfortunately, despite the abundance of available information, few take the initiative to actively search, acquire and use it. It’s much easier to relax and become a slave to your comfort zone. I urge you not to fall into this trap. Free yourself from your comfort zone and challenge yourself to learn and apply new skills.

Balance

Ironically, while modern technology makes learning easier, it also makes it easy to do nothing. Life is much more convenient than before. Only with a phone and a couch you can lie all day shopping, checking emails, browsing social networks and chatting with Netflix. No one will come and stop you. It's up to you to decide.

And I'm not saying this to suggest that you should feel guilty if you don't work around the clock. This is not the message I hope to convey. There is nothing wrong with raising your legs to relax. However, this should not be the only thing you do.

There must be a balance.

initiative

We all have the ability to learn. Each of us demonstrated this ability in childhood. The fact that you can read this entry is all the necessary evidence. However, having the ability to learn means very little if you do not continue to use it.

As Jim Rohn once said, "Those who do not read are no better than those who cannot read."

So what do you need?

Initiative.

One of the most reliable ways to increase your value is to take the initiative to improve yourself through training.

Small Steps

I know, like anyone else, that life is hectic. We are all busy. This is not a reason to postpone cultivation. In the past, I said that something is nothing like exercise. The same can be said about learning. You don’t need to reorganize all day to set aside time for reading and learning. Even an additional 10 minutes per day will accumulate significantly over the course of weeks and months.

Last thoughts

When I shared the video on Instagram, I knew that it would not be too popular. Most people are not on social networks, so they hear someone like me telling them to log out and go to school. This is a message that more people need to hear, so I’ll be happy to talk about it, even if one person has the opportunity to change their worldview.

With that said, I will keep this entry brief. Challenge yourself to learn a new skill and repeat this process all your life. There is no end point when it comes to learning, just as it is not when it comes to enhancing your own worth.

Tools are available to all of us. Will you use them?
