The main changes in the behavior that I made required a lot of motivation, support from others, a clear vision of where I would like to be, and reliance on my strengths and values. I feel so strong the power of these two parts – “what” and “how” – to change my health, and I created programs to train functional medicine practitioners and functional health trainers so that they can specialize in supporting the transformations I have experienced.
It was not easy for me to make the necessary changes and change my health, as well as many of you who are also struggling with chronic diseases. How do you get the support you need to improve your health, build new health habits and change your lifestyle throughout your life? Health training can play an important role here.
Health coaching is an “how” that combines functional medicine and ancestral health to reverse chronic diseases, both individually and globally. You cannot automatically improve your health and not reverse a chronic disease, simply knowing the cause or what our ancestors ate. Improving your health also requires planning, goals, and other methods and tools that support change and action.

Problem conversionNot information
It is clear that knowledge of what needs to be changed is not enough to change people's health. As of June 2019, there were over 50,000 diet books and over 60,000 exercise books on Amazon.com, but obesity in the U.S. adult population rose from 31% to 40% from 1999 to 2016 (1) and the percentage of the U.S. population . with diabetes almost doubled from 4 percent to 7.4 percent between 1999 and 2015. (2) If information would be required to reverse a chronic disease, we would not see these trends.
These statistics are alarming, and diabetes and obesity are not isolated cases. The epidemic of chronic diseases reaches a staggering height: six out of ten adults in the USA have one chronic disease, and four out of ten adults in the USA have two or more. (3) In other words, most adults in the US get sick,
Among these discouraging figures, I am actually optimistic about the future health of the US population. More than 85 percent of these diseases are due to our behavior and the environment, not our genes. (four) This means that we can prevent or reverse chronic diseases simply by adopting healthier habits.
This is good news, but success in changing the health landscape in this country is not the final conclusion. Change is not easy at all. More than information, motivation and strategy are needed to change our habits. Support is also required … and it is here that health coaches excel,
The ADAPT health coaching model is to provide people with the necessary support to develop new habits and change their lives. Find out more in this article. #healthylifestyle #changeagent #chriskresser
What is the purpose of health coaching?
The epidemic of chronic diseases in this country is an urgent problem, and it is a problem that we can solve, but how can we solve it effectively? Over the past few years, it has become clear to me that even if there are several clinicians, my clinic will never be able to satisfy the demand for such a job. That is why I devoted myself to training the next generation of practitioners and practitioners in the field of functional medicine and equipped them with the tools to effectively prevent and eliminate modern chronic diseases in the real world.
We have not reached this epidemic in a short period of time, and it cannot be quickly corrected. Chronic disease is the result of habits and environmental factors that have a negative effect on the body over a long period of time, and this is a long-term problem that requires a long-term solution. Unlike acute health problems that can be treated with pills or surgery, treating chronic illnesses requires a change in behavior that not only requires effort over an extended period of time, but also requires maintenance – and support.
As I and many other practitioners have discovered, we never have enough time with our patients, and providing the support they need to set goals, build habits, maintain motivation and create long-term behavior changes is not a core skill for many practitioners. This gap between the practitioner's diagnosis and treatment and patient outcomes can only be filled by union specialists who are specially trained in the methods and tools that reliably provide this support. Filling this gap is the main reason I created a training program for health trainers and why there are health trainers in my staff.
Coach Yourself: Applying Health Coaching to Your Life
Not all of you want to become professional health trainers, just as you do not want to become practitioners in the field of functional medicine, but the skills of a health instructor can still be valuable to you, just as information about functional health can change your situation . a life. As we exchange more information on this site about health coaching, as well as concepts and skills that are central to coaching practice, we encourage you to try them out and use them in your life the way you use information about functional the health we share
Many of you are self-taught “civic scientists” when it comes to basic principles of functional health, and we would like you to become “civic trainers.” Civilian tools, such as N of 1 experiments (clinical trials involving only one patient), home testing and monitoring, as well as diets reset, provide us with important information about our body. In addition, knowledge about motivation, setting goals, shaping habits and how to influence a positive change in behavior – all the tools of a good trainer are equally important skills that can support your own health and healthy habits of others.
The important thing is that civilian scientists are not trained scientists, and civilian trainers are not trained trainers. It is imperative that we not only understand how to use the information and tools of scientists and trainers to improve our lives and society, but also understand that these tools can be abused. Respect your body and respect your family and friends – no one likes a know-it-all or overly diligent consultant.
