Reminder: my transformation took years. Remember this before comparing yourself with me or anyone else.
I started running 10 years ago.
It took me YEARS to lose weight, grow faster and grow RunEatRepeat.com full time.
And I am truly grateful that it was not quick or easy for me.
I did not run a single rough marathon, and next time I scored 3:20.
Weight did not fall easily.
I was still heavy and slow … while others seemed to lose weight and crazy fast PR people.
But I kept going –
not because it helped me lose weight …
not because I was getting faster …
not because it was easy …
I kept going, because I like the way it makes me feel physically and morally.
I like a tired but perfect feeling after a hard run.
I look forward to my long run – knowing that I can get into the zone, and I do not need to worry that I have to do something else.
I was proud of myself because it was difficult – but I could do it.
And the fact that it's hard for me means that I can communicate if it's hard for you.
If you are struggling with your weight, gaining speed, feel that you belong to yourself, feel shy, increase your distance … I GET YOU.
You are not alone. There are many of us there! Join the club. Seriously, this is called Team Run Eat Repeat, and you will always be here, regardless of your size, speed, age or number of toenails.
