Chopped bran get their Scottish whiskey “Game of Thrones”
Game of Thrones The whiskey collection is set to cross fantasy kingdoms and release one bottle to manage them all: the 15-year-old single malt whiskey, which will be released next month under the name Six Kingdoms.
Six Kingdoms refers to the last kingdom –spoilers!– over which King Bran Broken held power in the final Game of Thrones (he let Sansa Stark and Winterfell separate).
Six Kingdoms is the 15-year-old expression of Mortlach single malt Scotch whiskey: Speyside distillery, known for its sherry finish. Six Kingdoms takes the first Scotch sherry barrel and adds an extra layer of aroma, dipping this whiskey in a barrel of former bourbon. Parent company Diageo says that whiskey is predominantly full of notes of vanilla and spices. Judging by the description (and resistance to the 92nd), we assume that it will be a full fragrant sip. Game of Thrones Whiskey was relatively hit or missed. But in the House single-malt series, there were some delightful pearls among them, including House Greyjoy and House Stark.
Mortlach, meanwhile, is a legendary brand and a longtime favorite of Scotch's most dedicated connoisseurs. In recent years, the brand has released some of the oldest bottles of Scotch whiskey ever bottled, and this year they updated their portfolio by declaring 12-, 16- and 20-year-olds that have been well received.
We are being warned that Six Kingdoms will only be released in limited quantities, and a $ 150 price tag means they probably won't be delayed for long. Considering overall positive reviews about Game of Thrones collection, this bottle is almost certainly worth picking up if you cross it. But if you buy it, do not put it in the closet as an item for the collector. In the end, all dramas must die.
