9 ways to faithful yoga benefit the mind, body and soul – the right training
Yoga is what I went through my personal path and prayed for a long time to join the Faithful Training. A decision that was not easy and not easy, but because I was not only in the world, but also inspired by how God continues to lead this ministry and our mission to share the good news about Christ with those who do not know him.
Our prayer with correct yoga is that Christians who want to gain physical benefits from yoga now have a safe place to practice, and those who do not know Jesus will have a place to experience a different style of yoga, truly based on God's word. I believe that it is not the position of our bodies that determines who we worship, but the position of our heart. For example, I can be in the pose of Child, and they remind me that I am the daughter of the King, or I can be in the pose of the Warrior and praise God.
I do not say that I support all yoga, I say that I support yoga, which focuses on Jesus and the truth of the Bible, when I do movements like yoga, and here are 9 ways I believe that faithful yoga can improve your body, mind and soul.
3 WAYS OF TRUE YOGA BENEFITS OF THE BODY
Improves muscle tone and flexibility. Our faithful yoga threads train your muscles, using your own body weight for resistance, just like standard pushups or squats. The muscles that do the work become stronger, moving through a series of movements, supporting body weight, and simultaneously using certain muscles to balance and support.
Increases blood flow and blood circulation. Poor circulation can be the main cause of all kinds of problems in our body, such as fluid retention and swelling in the lower limbs. Movement is the key to well-being on many levels, including circulatory health. True yoga can improve the body’s blood circulation with light percussion movements, which is the best type of exercise for poor circulation. These tensile movements contribute to an increase in blood flow in the body.
Build Strength for Joints, Ligaments and TendonsDid you know that weaker muscles mean that the body relies on joints for stability? This puts a lot of pressure on the joints, ligaments and tendons. Strengthening your muscles with Faithful Yoga can create healthier joints, as stronger muscles support the body, relieving stress and tension, while helping to control weight and healthy weight.
Denika Ross, a certified instructor of Holy Yoga and the founder of Unshaken Yoga (who is also my wonderful daughter), loves how yoga physically improved her body: “Yes, yoga is a great way to stretch, but it is also a great way to strengthen strength, improve balance and strengthen the core."
3 WAYS OF FAITHFUL YOGA ADVANTAGES OF THE MIND
In traditional yoga, people often talk about "cleansing the mind," but I strongly disagree and believe that clearing the mind is dangerous. To quote an old American proverb: “The empty mind is the playground of the devil.”
In fact, sin begins in the mind. We tend to let our mind think about what it wants. A useless mind can be dangerous, so we want to fill our minds with the truth of God's Word.
In Galatians 5 we learn that there are two voices in our mind: the voice of the Holy Spirit (Truth) and the lies of the world (sinful nature) "These two forces are constantly fighting each other.“Galatians 5:17, so we need to work on”letting the Holy Spirit guide your life"(Gal. 5:16)
When we focus our thoughts and hearts on Jesus, slowing down to fill ourselves with the Scriptures, we reap the benefits. All our streams of yoga include the truth of the Bible. Moving your body, you are filled with a life that gives truth.
Reducing anxiety, stress and depression. During Faithful Yoga, where we concentrate on being in the presence of God, we can experience more peace and relaxation that reduce our physical tension, freeing us from the lies that cause us the enemy, causing us fear, anxiety and stress. . Nothing reduces stress, like focusing on the truth about who God is.
Improved mood. There is nothing more satisfying, encouraging, inspiring and uplifting than getting closer to God. He is our Holy Father, Counselor and Healer. True yoga is time to slow down, put your burden at the foot of the Cross and let God fight in our battles. This time spent with Him is the best mood stimulant!
Improves memory and concentration. A study at the University of Pennsylvania found that even a few minutes spent deliberately slowing the mind can improve concentration, mental performance and concentration. Stress has a strong effect on the brain, and faithful yoga promotes breathing, meditating on the word of God to divert attention and calm the mind and body so that the brain can work best.
3 ways faithful yoga bring the soul
immobilityThis is a noisy world with an abundance of distractions that the enemy uses to take us away from God. Satan wants us to believe that employment and competition to do more and be more is what brings us happiness. The last thing he wants is for you to slow down, calm down, and sit down with your Heavenly Father. Faithful yoga not only promotes stillness, but also immobility in the presence of God, where we can approach Him, where we can feel Jesus as the Prince of Peace and allow Him to fight in our battles.
Exodus 14:14The Lord will fight for you, and you should only be silent."
Deeper connection with GodHere, at the right training, we adopted the term “truly ingrained”. As Christians, we are called to study the Word and take root deeply in God's truth, because it is the only Truth. Our “True Yoga” exercises include the theme and scriptures, in which time spent in yoga movements is also a time aimed at developing a deeper connection with Him.
James 4: 8 "Get closer to God, and He will come closer to you. Cleanse your hands, sinners; and purify your hearts, you are twofold."
Colossians 2: 7Let your roots grow into it, and may your life be built on it. Then your faith grows in the truth that you have been taught, and you will be filled with gratitude."
Expand to hear His voiceGod does not need to compete with the noise of the world. Many times we pray to hear God, we pray to get an answer to prayer, but we do not do our work to slow down so that we can hear His voice above all. During our training of the Faithful Yoga, we open ourselves through obedience and stillness, so that we can prepare our hearts and minds in order to receive what He has for us.
If you are interested in the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of yoga, we want to encourage you to find an instructor who speaks biblical truths in your heart and mind while practicing yoga. Denika shares the importance of this in his yoga classes.I come to every flow of yoga with the intention of transmitting God's love to people who attend classes or watch videos. Yoga should be a place to slow down, focus on breathing and calm our mind so that we can better hear the voice of God."
If you want to try out the exercise "True Yoga", this is an excellent Flow for beginners, which I hope will inspire you in your mind, body and soul.
